Mandated Reporting of Suspected Child Abuse:

Knowing Your Role in the Protection of Our Children

Our Mandated Reporter Training is approved by:
  • PA Department of Human Services in accordance with Act 31 of 2014 a

  • PA Department of Education in accordance with Act 126 of the Pennsylvania Public School Code

Cost

$250 base rate plus $5 per participant (no limit on the number of participants)

Training Goals:
To increase the likelihood of mandated reporters making a report of suspected incidents of child abuse to child protective services, including incidents of bodily injury, fabricating, exaggerating, or inducing a medical symptom or disease, serious mental injury, sexual abuse or exploitation, likelihood of bodily injury, likelihood of sexual abuse or exploitation, serious physical neglect, specific recent acts of child abuse, the death of a child, and human trafficking.


Training Objectives:
The training goal will be achieved through the following objectives:

  • Increase knowledge and ability to identify indicators of bodily injury, fabricating a medical symptom/disease, serious mental injury, sexual abuse or exploitation, likelihood of bodily injury, likelihood of sexual abuse or exploitation, serious physical neglect, specific recent acts of child abuse, the death of a child, and severe forms of trafficking in persons or sex trafficking.

  • Increase the understanding of the dynamics of child abuse.

  • Increase understanding of life factors as they affect youth as well as cultural humility as a tool for the mandated reporter.

  • Increase knowledge of who is classified as a mandated reporter and what those responsibilities are under the Child Protective Services Law.

  • Increase knowledge of procedure for reporting child abuse to child protective services.

  • Increase sense of obligation/responsibility to report suspected child abuse to child protectiveservices.
